February 1, 2024 – Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University proceeded to carry out academic collaboration in developing a Program of Nursing Specialty in Emergency Nurse Practitioner with the Accident and Emergency Department, Srinagarind Hospital and 12 hospitals under the Public Health Area 7 led by Khon Kaen Central Hospital, namely, Phon Hospital, Banphai Hospital, Chumpae Hospital, Roi-et Hospital, Suvarnabhum Hospital, Kasetwisai Hospital, Selaphum Hospital, Maha Sarakham Hospital, Borabue Hospital, Kalasin Hospital, and Kuchinarai Hospital. The meeting took place at Jerm Khwan Room, Bayasita Hotel, Khon Kaen University. Assoc. Prof. Ampornpan Teeranuch, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Nursing presided over the event and delivered the opening address.

The Program of Nursing Specialty in Emergency Nurse Practitioner is a field vital and significant for the present-day society. The program is also the collaboration of the network to carry out the mission in upgrading and developing the competency of nurses in the accident and emergency department, while creating opportunities for the professional nurses working in this department. The trained nurses will acquire up-to-date skills and knowledge that meet the needs of the present society. They will contribute to the strength of the health system of the country. After the MOU signing, there were special talks on “Policy to Increase the Competency of Emergency Nurse Practitioners of the Public Health Area 7” by Doctor Tanarak Palipat, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Public Health, Area 7; and “Policy, Background, Principle, and Importance of the Program of Nursing Spcialty in Emergency Nurse Practitioner” by Prof. Siri-orn Sinthu, Ph.D., President of Thailand Nursing Council under HRH Princess Mother’s Royal Patronage. On this occasion, the MOU was signed for the co-development of the Program of Nursing Specialty in Emergency Nurse Practitioner by the 12 hospitals including: the Directors of the respective hospitals, Head Nurses, Heads of Accident and Emergency Departments, Emergency Doctors, and professional nurses working in the Accident and Emergency Departments.
The afternoon session was the talk by the Faculty of Nursing on “Specialty Program towards Master’s Degree” at Room 2204, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University. Assoc. Prof. Amporanpan Teeranuch, Ph.D., Dean of the Facult, officially opens the session. Next, Prof. Siri-orn Sinthu, Ph.D., President of Thailand Nursing Council under HRH Princess Mother’s Royal Patronage gave recommendations on the topic “Specialty Program towards Master’s Degree”. The program develops skills and increases the chance in the occupation of the specialty nursing profession. A lot of lecturers were interested and attended the talk.
