KKU discusses leading researchers from Laboratoire de Biotechnologie de l’Environnement, France, on bioenergy development

February 1, 2024 at the VIP Reception Room, 6th Floor, Sirikunakorn Building – Khon Kaen University led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of the University; Prof. Phewpan Maleewong, M.D., Assistant to the President for Research and Graduate study; Asst. Prof, Araya Chaoruangrit, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Technology; Prof. Alissra Ruangsaeng, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research and International Relation, Faculty of Technology had discussion with Professor Eric Trably, Ph.D., from Laboratoire de Biotechnologie de l’Environnement, France, on academic and research collaboration.


The President mentioned the possibility to run a 2-degree program together. Khon Kaen University, under this collaboration, will have a chance to have highly competent experts from abroad on short-term projects, which is a good chance to extend the cooperation.
Professor Eric Trably, Ph.D., said that it was a pleasure to meet with KKU administrators and give a lecture to the students and lecturers. On the part of research collaboration with Prof. Dr. Alissara Ruangsaeng, the research project proposals have been developed on clean energy, which would be the two institutions’ sustainable future collaboration.
Professor Eric Trably’s 2 lectures were on: 1) Electrofermentation or how to combine fermentation and microbial electrochemistry principles to optimize the conversion of organic residues into valuable products, on February 1, 2024; and 2) Increasing research capability, on February 2, 2024 at the Faculty of technology.
