The KKU “new normal” – Ready to adjust to digital workflow

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all organizations need to develop their administration and adjust themselves to the “new normal”.

On May 29, 2020, KKU Library, Khon Kaen University, together with the KKU Administrators’ Network, held the “2nd Virtual Forum: Challenges and Opportunities of KKU Workforce to Support KKU through COVID-19” online. This event was honored by the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President, Khon Kaen University, who delivered the opening speech.

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, Acting President, Khon Kaen University, said regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, it is important to adjust ourselves, develop all administrations, and exchange ideas to get ready for the new normal. Also, KKU has many staff who are able to support our university and today is a very good opportunity to arrange the “2nd Virtual Forum: Challenges and Opportunities of KKU Workforce to Support KKU through COVID-19”.

Mr. Chumporn Para, Acting Director of Communication Affairs Division (CAD), said social media has dramatically affected traditional media, and today we are facing the new normal, so online platforms have come to play a key role for all sectors. For example, KKU has started using digital document signatures. Moreover, CAD is KKU’s center for worldwide communication. We create an excellent image and build activities for KKU, therefore, we have many channels to publish information, such as the KKU website, FM 103 radio, KKU Pop Mail, and the main official contact points such as our Facebook fanpage, KKU official Line account, and the KKU hotline. During this pandemic, we also manage the Center for COVID-19 Information to disseminate all necessary information and announcements related to COVID-19. Finally, a completely online platform is a key objective that we would like to realize, and we hope that the information we communicate will be useful to everyone, especially in this new normal era.

Mr. Tanya Pakdee, Director of General Affairs Division, said to ensure safety during the COVID-19 situation, we have formed the electronic document system, capacity for digital signatures, the Work From Home system, and online conferencing. These online platforms can support effective workflow in Khon Kaen University.

Ms. Laor Khoyun, a specialized librarian, KKU Library, said KKU Library has adopted the policies and measures from both Thailand and foreign countries to provide services such as an adjusted reading space, virtual classroom studios, an online borrow-and-return book and device service, online debt checkup, the Read From Home service, and online courses.
