Faculty of Law holds a meeting to discuss human rights study in Isan

FACULTY OF LAW JOINS THE NORTHEAST HUMAN RIGHTS COORDINATING AND STUDY CENTER AND OFFICE OF NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL TO HOLD A MEETING TO DISCUSS WAYS TO CAMPAIGN PROMOTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND PEACE STUDY IN NORTHEASTERN AREAS 

December 20, 2019 – Faculty of Law led by sst. Prof. Kittibodi Yaipoon, Dean of the faculty; Ajarn Daranee Rachphukhiaw, Assistant to the Dean for Academic Network Administration; Mrs. Prakairat Tonthirawong and Mrs. Areewan Jatuthong, members of the Human Rights Council met with Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., Acting President of Khon Kaen University to discuss ways for implementation of regional control and promotion of human rights. A meeting that followed was attended by the administrative committee of the Northeast Human Rights Coordinating and Study Center to discuss ways to drive forward the mission in promotion of human rights in the Northeast for the fiscal year 2020. The participants agreed to incorporate plans for the following activities: 1)Training speakers on human rights processes and publicize a manual for basic 5-layer human rights instruction, 2) Training youth leaders in human rights respect, and 3)Producing public relation media to publicize human rights issue in the area, through cooperation with the network schools of the Center and schools in 20 northeastern provinces. 

In the afternoon, the center members visited the following network schools: Khumnongkhu Municipal School and Bannonchai Municipal School. The two schools have implemented promotion and campaign on human rights and peace study. Pupils have also been supported to live their lives under the human rights respect society. The delegation then learned about the means and suggestions for the suitable methods used in arranging learning activities on human rights that will lead to development of network cooperation among schools and the Northeast Human Rights Coordinating and Study Center.
