KKU Groundwater Resources Research Institute calls up the first stakeholder meeting

 

Groundwater Resources Research Institute hosts stakeholder meeting to voice analytical ideas on the transferring of the groundwater office to be under the affiliation of the local administration office.    

On August 30, 2019 at Chareon Thani Hotel, Khon Kaen University Groundwater Resources Research Institute hosted stakeholder meeting to voice analytical ideas on the measures to be taken following the policy to transfer the institute to be under the local administration offices. The meeting comprised of about 115 members who represented water users and government officers. The ideas discussed in the meeting included; groundwater management, regulations to groundwater drilling permission, and groundwater fee.

A part of the meeting was the seminar on, “Directions of groundwater management by government and local office for water sufficiency among water users and sustainability of groundwater”. The seminar allowed thorough hearing from all stakeholders on measures to be taken following the office transition to the local administration office. The pilot transition would take place in Khon Kaen.

The first stakeholder meeting hosted by Groundwater Resources Research Institute helped set measures that smoothen the groundwater office transition. The meeting was well-participated by its stakeholders.
