Power Giants Unite: B.Grimm Power and KKU Engineering Join Forces to Revolutionize Thailand’s Clean Energy Future

In a landmark move that promises to reshape Thailand’s renewable energy landscape, B.Grimm Power, a 147-year-old energy powerhouse, has joined hands with Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Engineering through a groundbreaking academic partnership signed on January 20, 2025.

The historic signing ceremony, held at the prestigious Pienvichit Building, brought together visionaries from both institutions. Leading the academic delegation was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Dean of Engineering, alongside Prof. Dr. Wanida Kanarkard, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Affairs. B.Grimm Power was represented by Mr. Don Tayatan, Executive Vice President of Engineering Technology and Project Construction, and Mr. Torchai Supatwanit, Assistant Executive Vice President.

“This partnership isn’t just about signing documents – it’s about shaping the future of sustainable energy in Thailand,” declared Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn. He emphasized how this collaboration aligns perfectly with the faculty’s ambitious vision of becoming a “world-class Faculty of Engineering for everyone,” while driving innovation and industry development.

The partnership comes at a crucial time as B.Grimm Power, already operating across 15 countries with over 4,000 megawatts of power generation capacity, sets its sights on an ambitious goal. “We’re not just thinking about tomorrow – we’re planning for decades ahead,” stated Mr. Don Tayatan. “Our target is to reach 10,000 megawatts by 2030 and achieve Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050. This partnership with one of Thailand’s leading universities will be instrumental in reaching these goals.”

The collaboration extends beyond mere paperwork. Following the ceremony, the B.Grimm Power team was treated to an exclusive tour of KKU’s cutting-edge lithium-ion battery factory, led by Prof. Thidarat Boonmas, Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise, and Assoc. Prof. Nonglak Meethong, the factory’s Director. This visit highlighted the practical applications and immediate potential of the partnership.
This strategic alliance represents more than just an academic-industry partnership – it’s a commitment to pioneering sustainable solutions in renewable energy, environmental protection, and technological innovation. By combining B.Grimm Power’s extensive industry experience with KKU’s academic excellence, this collaboration is set to accelerate Thailand’s journey toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
