Wednesday March 13, 2024 – Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, held a press conference to release news about a more-than- one-degree program, “Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration”. Asst. Prof. Angkana Boonyued, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanich, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy met the press at Wittayawipas 1, Wittayawipas Building, Faculty of Sciences, Khon Kaen University. A lot of administrators, deans, heads of organizations both inside and outside Khon Kaen University, distinguished guests and students attended.
Asst. Prof. Angkana Boonyued, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Khon Kaen University, revealed that in accordance with Khon Kaen University’s vision to become a world class research and development university, with the role in social dedication; the strategy in this regard is directed towards KKU Transformation. The direction for educational transformation has been set together with freedom in knowledge acquisition. Thus, Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy have cooperated to develop a cross-disciplinary integrated program that will prepare quality scientist graduate with knowledge and business in business administration so that they would be able to do business in the future. This answers the needs of the world job market in the 21st Century.
Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanich, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University, added that the “Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration program” is the newest cross-disciplinary program that integrates the bachelor’s degree in science of the Faculty of Sciences and the master’s degree program in business administration of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy.
“Students of this program take courses in sciences in parallel with courses in business administration and will graduate with two degrees within 4.5 years. The program increases students’ potentiality in extending their knowledge and developing skills as a knowledgeable scientist who is also competent in business administration and can become an entrepreneur, a businessman, a market expert or a startup entrepreneur. This means the chance of positive progress in their occupation, which could be in the governmental as well as private sectors. They will grow to be a successful entrepreneur of two occupations.”
The program will enroll the first class of students in the academic year 2024. The programs in the Faculty of Sciences that join include: statistics, information science, battery and new energy science, chemistry, physics, material science and nanotechnology. The program in business administration at the graduate level will be from the specific fields, namely: 1) tourism and MICE innovation management, 2) marketing, 3) logistics management, 4) management of commercial and innovation entrepreneurs, and 5) management of international businesses and startup.
