KKU wins the second prize from “RSP Innovation Award 2023” for upgrading regional entrepreneurs and national excellent innovations

August 13, 2023 – Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation by the Promotion and Coordination Division for Science, Research and Innovation held the “RSP INNOVATION AWARDS 2023” at the TechnoMart 2023 event. The products of entrepreneurs developed at regional science parks were sold at the marketing experiment zone from August 11 until August 15, 2023. Miss Sunee Lertpiantham, Chief Inspector-General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation presented prizes to researchers and entrepreneurs who have shown outstanding works in science, technology and innovation at Hall 12, IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok.

Miss Sunee Lertpiantham, Chief Inspector-General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation revealed, “The office of Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation by the Promotion and Coordination Division for Science, Research and Innovation, the principle division for promoting and supporting the operations of Regional Science Park, has the key roles in deployment of bodies of knowledge in science, technology, innovation and in promoting and supporting commercial utilization. The division and the affiliated parks are equipped with the infrastructures that facilitate creation of innovations, including laboratories, prototype factories, mechanism for incubating businesses, and ability in coordinating collaboration between governmental and private sectors in the area that lead to strengthening of competitive competency of entrepreneurs and hence the improved quality of life of the public, community and environmental development, as well as contribution to sustainable economic and social development of the country.

“The RSP INNOVATION AWARDS 2023 is the venue that provides the chance for researchers and entrepreneurs to publicize their success in potentially commercial research and innovation works. It is another venue that honors the customers of the science parks who have been able to empirically improve the values of real use of sciences, technologies and innovations. The awards are divided into two fields: innovation businessmen and commercial innovations. Besides, the event also features exhibitions of various products and works of the science parks’ customers that will help the entrepreneurs to experiment on marketing and receive recommendations for improving their products to meet the needs of the target group. The private sector and those interested are also able to receive the service of the regional science parks. This means potentiality development of entrepreneurs and industries in the long run,” Miss Sunee Lertpiantham, Chief Inspector-General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation ended.

First Prize: SUWAN Spray – an extract of pain releaser from Beta Pinene in Kaffir
By Mrs. Nattamon Piyapong, Suwan Spray by Bensu Co.,Ltd. and Burapa University. SUWAN Spray is an extract of painkiller from Beta Pinene in Kaffir and is a house spray that can replace pain release pills. Suwan spray can be used by people of all ages and is an alternative for patients who have to be careful in taking painkillers. It helps releasing ache and external inflammation without having to take a pill. This product is based on Concept BCG or the use of farm produces that can add values and conserve the environment with the use of recyclable packages to reduce environmental garbage.


First Runner-up Prize: Oz-P
By Chayanit Chukhae, a pharmacist from Peechaya Lee, Co. Ltd. and Prince of Songkhla University. Oz-P is based on the extract of major elements in red onion and onion. It can be used with all ages from new-born to older ages to release running nose, cold, and allergies, easing breathing and enabling good night sleep. It also nurtures skin and has been tested by dermscan asia. It contains no perfume, menthol or the like so the product does not irritate the respiratory tissue and can be applied directly on skin.


Runner-up Prize: Pre-Ionic Organic Fertilizer
By Khun Tiwa Jamaree from Peechaya Lee, Co.Ltd. and Mae Jo University. The company has created the N-Machine or organic nitrogen fertilizer producing machine which is of high efficiency and can produce efficient organic nitrogen equivalent to chemicals but in 30 folds shorter time.

First Prize: V Flow Food Supplement
By Khun Wisit Koworakul from J W Herbal Co. Ltd., and Chiangmai University. V Flow contains 3 herbs: ginger, Chinese date, and black ear mushroom. V Flow is good for health and blood vessel. The extract has been developed until it is in the form of product easy to take, both in pills and drink and still contains the useful properties of the herbs. The key element is the Zingiber officinale that helps preventing platelet clotting and contains anti-oxidant.


First Runner-up Prize: ZEREE A Jelly Gummy, the microbe for alimentary duct and brain
By Nattawat Eksiriwarakit, DVM, NanoSery, Co. Ltd. and Prince of Songkhla University. The product is made from encapsulating 2 probiotics with prebiotic from curcuminoid using green technology, with curcuminoids rich extraction (CRE-SD) and nano-encapsulation before dispatching the extract to the target at the intestine. The useful probiotics work very well and are not destroyed by the severe gastro acidic condition. At the same time the extract also absorbs well in the body and can nurture intestine cells efficiently.


Runner-up Prize: Initial Cancer Screening
By Assoc. Prof. Teerapong Puangmali, Ph.D., Khon Kaen University Science Park. This kit is for checking blood DNA that is a universal biomarker of nearly all types of cancer. Therefore, it is suitable to screen initial risk of cancer. At present, the test is directed towards biological indicator that is specific to each type of cancer. Therefore, screening of cancer risk is subject to high cost and time.
