Khon Kaen University prepares personnel for their retiring life in the digital era

June 14, and 16, 2022 – Division of Human Resources and Office of Academic Service of Khon Kaen University organized an event to promote potentiality and develop quality of life of the retirees of KKU of the fiscal year 2022 at Saisuree Jutikul Room, Faculty of Education. The objective of this event was to get the retirees this year well prepared to lead their life in their retirement. There are 267 retirees in 2022.

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the opening session and said that life after retirement opens a chance for fulfilling one’s dream without any condition. Retirees have enough time to do whatever they want. In this digital era there are many things that require the retirees to adjust themselves and be prepared more than in the past. Khon Kaen University therefore organized this event in order to prepare the personnel involved. The University thanks many of the retirees who will still be working for the University after their retirement. This year, it is lucky that the situation of Covid-19 eases up, enabling the University to organize this event.

Assoc. Prof. Kriengkrai Kitcharoen, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources explained about the objectives of this Project, that the training was meant to provide knowledge and suggestions for the retirees related to their rights after retirement and to prepare them to be ready to live their retiring lives, in occupation, mental and physical health, attitudes and life quality. Other objectives are to build good relationships among the retirees and a network of the retirees and the University in which activities can be arranged. After this, Ajarn Bunyarit Sombatlai, a member of Khon Kaen University Council gave a thank you speech to the President, followed by group photographing.

The next session featured special talks on: “Digital Citizens, Chances, Risks and Learning” by Asst. Prof. Anucha Somabutr, Ph.D., Director of the Instruction Innovation Center; “Rights and Welfare of University Personnel after Retirement” by Khun Pornchai Iamsuntornkul, Head of the Rights and Welfare Section; and “Introduction to Study trips and Ways to Build Life Power and Face Changes” by Ajarn Bunyarit Sombatlai, a member of Khon Kaen University Council.

There were two more programs for this Project. The first was on acknowledgement about the rights and welfare after retirement, which was organized on June 14, 2022 and June 16, 2022. Next, there will be study trips arranged for the participating retirees in the country to learn the ways of living in different aspects and to build relationships among the retirees, who were divided into 3 groups as follows:

Group 1: July 24-27, 2022 in Pangnga and Phuket

Group 2: August 5-8, 2022 in Bangkok and Nan

Group 3: August 14-17, 2022 inPangnga and Phuket
