Office of Academic Service discusses collaboration under the “One Tambon One University” project in Phu Wiang District

January 4, 2021 at the Phu Wiang Sub-district Administrative Organization, Phu Wiang District, Khon Kaen – the Office of Academic Service went to discuss collaboration under the Sub-district Integrated Economic Upgrading Project “One Tambon One University” with the Presidents of Sub-district Administrative Organizations or their representatives from Phu Wiang Sub-district, Ban Rua Sub-district, Na Chumsaeng Sub-district, and Kud Khon Kaen Sub-district, totaling 12 people. The discussion was on the approaches for operations and needs analysis.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha, Vice President for Education and Academic Service and Asst. Prof. Natthapat Ananteerakul, Assistant to the President for Education and Academic Service discussed the approaches for the integrated upgrading of sub-district economy or the “One Tambon One University”. This project is aimed at collaboration of a university, a sub-district administrative organization and a school. The Office of Academic Service will target development of pupils first, which, as a result, the end products will be their family and community. This will bring sustainability of development with the school being the base to collect the information of each area in all aspects, including strength of the area in terms of tourism, community product development and income raising.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha mentioned about the collaboration between the Office of Academic Service and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences to promote farming of organic Pennywort in communities. The Pennywort can be used for manufacturing of medical cosmetics, which, in this regard, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has a factory equipped with modern tools and relevant experts. Such collaboration will increase incomes in the agricultural sector and communities. The TAO presidents and representatives were interested in the collaboration and were ready to study how to grow herbs and raise incomes for the farmers.
