KKU at a special friendly football match between the Premium Team from the province by the Governor and Dentist Team by KKU President

Tuesday August 25, 2020, 17:00 p.m. at the 50th Year Sports Arena of KKU – Khon Kaen University hosted a special friendly football match between PREMIUM TEAM led by Dr. Somsak Jangtrakoon, Khon Kaen Governor and KKU Dentist Team and friends led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University. The former was composed of high-level officers while the latte comprised KKU administrators, deans of some faculties and dentistry professors and alumni.

The opening ceremony began when the players of the two teams walked into the field. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul welcomed the players and the audience while Assoc. Prof. Waranuch Pitiphat, D.D.S., Dean of Faculty of Dentistry conveyed a reporting speech to Dr. Somsak Jangtrakoon, Khon Kaen Governor, who presided over the opening ceremony.

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., welcomed all by saying, “I’m pleased to welcome Khon Kaen Governor, the players and distinguished guests to this special football match that is aimed to strengthen the relationships between Khon Kaen VIP Team and the Dentist Team, which includes lecturers, alumni and staff of Faculty of Dentistry. This special football game is held to enhance good health, relationships among organizations in the province. Football is a kind of sports benefiting players as it leads to good physical condition and strength.”

Assoc. Prof. Waranuch Pitiphat, D.D.S., Dean of Faculty of Dentistry reported, “On behalf of Faculty of Dentistry and the organizing committee, I would like to thank Khon Kaen Governor for being here as the chairperson of the event. The match is aimed to strengthen the relationships between the players of the PREMIUM TEAM and the KKU Dentist Team and Friends. This is the second time we have organized the game. We expect to promote good health among the staff members. The committee has also decided to add the cheering teams for fun and support for the players.”

Dr. Somsak Jangtrakoon, Khon Kaen Governor said in his opening speech, “The special and friendly football match between the PREMIUM TEAM and the KKU Dentist Team and Friends has been held for the second time for the players and watchers to meet and do activities together. The usefulness of this activity is exercising, which will bring benefits to both the body and the mind, leading to goof health and physical potentials. The first match was fun. I remember PREMIUM TEAM lost – 3 to 1. I’m grateful to Khon Kaen University and Faculty of Dentistry for hosting and supporting the game. Finally, I hope the Great Mo Din Daeng Spirit and all the world sacred beings bless the players and all of the audience with happiness and success you wish for.”

Assoc. Prof. Waranuch Pitiphat, D.D.S., Dean of Faculty of Dentistry then presented a sport shirt and a Dino Dent doll, Faculty of Dentistry mascot to Dr. Somsak Jangtrakoon, Khon Kaen Governor before the match began. The first quarter featured the leaders of the two teams: the Governor for the Premium Team and KKU President for the Dentist Team playing as the goalkeepers, who played with their best effort. The first quarter ended equal. During the games, there was a Cover Dance show by the second year dentistry students, which added colorful features to the event. In the second quarter, the players of the two teams took turn having good chances with full players’ spirit. New players replaced the ones in the field from time to time. The result of this quarter was still a draw. At the brake, dentistry students performed a cheer-leading show, which was spectacular and fun.

During the third quarter, the KKU Dentist Team and Friends played tougher. The Premium Team was unable to resist and lost 3 points. However, at the last quarter, the Premium Team was able to take back, and the game ended with KKU team winning at 3-1.
