KKU keeps close ties with cooperative education network and support as well as develops it to the international level

On September 12, 2019 at 9 p.m. at Charoen Thani Khon Kaen Hotel, Bureau of Academic Administration and Development of Khon Kaen University organized the project (an activity for the development of international cooperative education personnel) to unlock the potential of cooperative education inspecting lecturers from upper northeastern region network. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul (MD), Adviser to Acting President, remarked the opening speech; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prapansak Chaveerach, Director of of Academic Administration and Development gave a report speech related to the project. It was also an honor to have Prof. Dr. Wichit Srisa-an, President of Thai Association for Cooperative Education, as a keynote speaker on the topic of “the True Desire and Expectation of the Founders of Association for Cooperative Education Regarding Integrating Teaching and Learning with Career.” This event was attended by more than 96 lecturers from network institutes.

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul said Thailand educational policy emphasized on integration of teaching and learning to real performance at work in order to produce graduates that met the requirement of the employers. As a result, Khon Kaen University had put an effort to produce accordingly – that was, students were introduced to cooperative education system, and international cooperative education lecturers including other concerning staff had been trained to understand its true philosophy and methods employed in developing students and achieving goals. This project would expand the potential of cooperative education lecturers and other concerning staff in the upper northeastern region so that they could improve cooperative education effectively.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prapansak Chaveerach revealed the objectives of this project were to support the personnel, exchange knowledge, and share experience related to cooperative education management to inspecting lecturers and interested people so that they could understand the system of international cooperative education. There were keynote speakers’ session and discussion, and over 96 participants from 12 institutes attended in the event.

Furthermore, there was a forum on “Lesson Learned: Integration of Education with Working in an International Setting; the Case Study of Production Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Khon Kaen Campus Working with a Team from Germany” by Mr. Bunkit Unpikun.

Another forum was “Project and Innovation Developed with Cooperative Education: Approaches, Desire, and Expectation of Employers” by Ms. Chulalak Kampim, Acting Deputy Managing Director of Phongsavanh Bank of Phongsavanh Group in Laos; Mr. Chittipum Kowbut, General Manager of Human Resource and Administration Department of Panasonic Manufacturing Co. Ltd. in Khon Kaen; and Mr. Chayakorn Lohtongkam, Manager of Recruitment and Network Creation of Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL. The host of the forum was Mr. Sittiporn Kabbualoy.

The last session was a forum on exchange and learn for international cooperative education by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakda Siriphattrasophon, a senior counselor of the Association of Researchers of Thailand, a part-time lecturer of universities in Vietnam and Austria; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prapansak Chaveerach, Director of of Academic Administration and Development, Khon Kaen University; Mr. Prin Nachaisit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Khon Kaen Campus; and Mr. Chayakorn Lohtongkam, Manager of Recruitment and Network Creation of Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL. The host of the forum was Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Saipan.
