Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarthorn Porntrakulpipat revealed, “Now Korean, Japanese, and Thai are popular among Myanmar teenagers. They learn Thai because Thailand is one of neighboring countries where they can find a job easily. Two universities that teach Thai language are Mandalay University of Foreign Languages and Yangon University of Foreign Language. Mandalay University of Foreign Languages has already signed MOU with Chiang Mai University, whereas Yangon University of Foreign Language has sent its students to pursue master’s and doctoral degree at Mahasarakham University and Srinakharinwirot University. This is a great opportunity to develop better relationship so that KKU can accept more prospective students supported by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).”
