Empowering Nursing Leaders: KKU Hosts Dynamic Training to Elevate Supervisory Skills

Khon Kaen University’s Academic Service Bureau recently hosted an invigorating training session titled “Effective Nursing Supervision Strategies,” marking its 31st edition. Held from November 11-12, 2024, at the Jazzotel Hotel in Bangkok, this event aimed to revolutionize the supervisory skills of nursing personnel across Thailand.

The training attracted 56 participants from hospitals spanning 23 provinces, all eager to enhance their leadership capabilities in line with the evolving demands of modern healthcare. The course was meticulously designed to equip attendees with the tools needed to nurture the next generation of nursing professionals and adapt to the dynamic healthcare landscape.

The event kicked off with a registration and a Baseline Assessment of Expectations (BAR), allowing participants to voice their needs and expectations, which will shape future training sessions. This was followed by a pre-training test via Google Form to gauge the participants’ initial understanding of the course material.
Esteemed speakers, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ratchatawan Sritragool and Ajarn Supatra Kraisopha, led the sessions with their profound expertise. They delved into advanced techniques and strategies for effective supervision, tailored to the working styles of new-generation nurses. Their insights emphasized the critical role of educators in establishing clear performance evaluation guidelines and enhancing competency assessments, recommending evaluations at least twice annually.
The training also explored practical supervisory strategies, offering actionable insights into competency assessments and communication techniques. These strategies empower supervisors to effectively guide and inspire their nursing teams.
