KKU sends students abroad on Cooperative and Work Integrated Education Program

Friday June 7, 2024 – Office of Academic Administration and Development, by the Cooperative Education Unit, Cooperative Education and Curriculum Section, organized the activities under the project for preparing students before traveling abroad under the Cooperative and Work Integrated Education (CWIE), First Semester, Academic Year 2024. The event was officially opened by Asst. Pro. Piyawat Saipan, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Academic Administration and Development. Assoc. Prof. Wanwipa Kaewpradit Polpinit, Ph.D., Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Administration and Development presented the reporting speech. Over 60 people attended, including students and lecturers. The event took place at Jerm Khwan Room, 1st Floor, Bayasita Hotel, Khon Kaen.

 

Asst. Prof. Piyawat Saipan, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Academic Administration and Development, revealed that the project was aimed at promoting and supporting students to a practicum program at a work place abroad to develop their knowledge, skills, competency and qualities that make them prepared for being a world citizen according to the required qualities of graduates. The activity also built knowledge and understanding before they work under the CWIE program.

The project was organized for one day on June 7, 2024, with 48 students participating in the activity. The 48 students consisted of 10 students from the Faculty of Agriculture, 27 students from the Faculty of Engineering, 10 students from the Faculty of Multi-disciplinary Sciences and 1 student from the International College.

The students are going for their cooperative education in 8 countries: 10 students to Vietnam, 5 students to Lao PDR, 1 student to Indonesia, 3 students to the Philippines, 1 student to the USA, 3 students to Taiwan, and 20 students to China.

The activity details:

Activity 1: A talk on “Preparation for the 4th Group of CWIE Students” by Assoc. Prof. Wanwipa Kaewpradit Polpinit, Ph.D.

Activity 2: A talk on “How to Communicate in English When Working with Many Generations and under Different Cultures” by Dr. Paradee Tangtaeng, Communication Manager, Quali-Dec Project, The French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD)

Activity 3: A seminar on “Open Heart Open Mind: Knowing Them, Knowing Us, Knowing the Job” by Miss Rawiporn Saisaenthong and Miss Phanit Khatnak, the Public Relation Officers from the Division of Communications, Khon Kaen University.

Activity 4: Roleplay under the topic: “Necessary Skills for CWIE Students” by a team from the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, led by Asst. Prof. Saksuriya Traiyarach, Asst. Prof. Yaowapa Treekamol, Ph.D., Faculty of Sciences, Asst. Prof. Sompomg Jankaew, Ph.D., Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Chanerin Falap, Faculty of Agriculture.
