KKU Volleyball Academy joins Khon Kaen Star VC Club to enhance athletes’ skills towards professional level

Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 13:00 p.m. – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the MOU signing ceremony between Khon Kaen University and Khon Kaen Star VC Club. Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation welcomed the guests and gave the reporting speech. Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanich, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy and Chairperson of the KKU Valley Ball Academy presented a conclusion and background of the academic collaboration. Signing for Khon Kaen University was Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; and Mr. Panchai Bawornratanapran, Chairman of the Khon Kaen Star VC Club signed for the Club. Among witnesses were administrators of Khon Kaen Star VC Club, a club under Khon Kaen Star Volley Ball Club Co. Ltd., the coach team, volleyball players, leaders of 8 Khon Kaen Economic Organizations, the schools that have signed the sports collaboration, administrators of AIA Co. Ltd.; administrators and staff of Khon Kaen University; distinguished guests and news correspondents. The ceremony took place at Sirikunakorn Room, 3rd Floor Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.

The KKU Volleyball Academy of Khon Kaen University is the training center that aims to incubate and develop volley ball skills for female youths and increase the competency in developing volleyball games of the two parties signing the MOU. It is expected that the promotion and support for the games would be strengthened with the collaboration. The involved institutions will work together for the reputation of Khon Kaen Province and to build high-competent athletes for the country. The Khon Kaen Star VC Club (under Khon Kaen Star Volleyball Club Co. Ltd.) and KKU Volleyball Academy hold similar intention and determination, leading to the signing of this MOU.

Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation reported, “This is the collaboration for developing competency and potentiality of girl volleyball players of the Club. The activities and operations of the two parties will enhance the players of the KKU volleyball Academy to demonstrate their capacities in volleyball. Potential volleyball players will be selected and recruited to the academy, whose operations will be in accordance with the plans of KKU and KK Volleyball Club.”

“KKU Volleyball Academy is the incubating and development center for volleyball sport among female youths so that their potential will be greater. The Academy joins with KK Star VC, which is a frontier volleyball club of Khon Kaen, with national professional athletes. The works of the club have been evident and brought reputation to Khon Kaen for a long time. This corresponds to Khon Kaen University’s objectives. The two institutions will promote school students based on the principle of upstream, midstream and downstream to build sustainability to the administration system. The two parties will join to develop the athletes and increase the potential of the athletes for Khon Kaen Province, in accordance with the UN’s SDG 5: Gender Equality and strengthening females and girls. The operations will also demonstrate the role and determination of the 60th year of Khon Kaen University.”

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University said, “This MOU signing is building cooperation in supporting, promoting, and mutual reliance, with the target of determined objectives and relationships in the same direction. The joining of the two organizations would lead to development of volleyball sports, building capable athletes, the clubs and the university with female volleyball players who would play for the country. From amateurs, we will build the professionals to play at the national and international levels.”

Mr. Panchai Bawornratanapran, Chairman of the Khon Kaen Star VC Club said, “I’m very happy today that the route of Khon Kaen Star VC meets Khon Kaen University. From experience, Isan has many young people with family problems that become a vulnerable group who need assistance from all sectors. We can work together to help them and build strong seedlings. These young people, when assisted, have succeeded and grown up with quality. Volleyball is another sport that will enhance the skills of these young people, demonstrate their competency and bring reputation to the country. I’m happy that we will work together to promote youths to become well known volleyball players in the future.”

Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanich, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy and Chairperson of the KKU Valley Ball Academy explained, “The academic collaboration between Khon Kaen University and Khon Kaen Star VC Club is aimed at taking responsibilities over the two clubs in terms of budget support. The collaboration will last 5 years from August 29, 2023 until August 29, 2028. The collaboration will involve club administration and marketing as well as building good image to the clubs.”

The distinguished administrators signing the MOU on Khon Kaen University’s part was: Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; while Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation; Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanich, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy and Chairperson of the KKU Valley Ball Academy; Asst. Prof. Bandit Sawanyawisut, Ph.D., Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Developing Cooperation and Marketing, KKU Volleyball Academy, signed as witnesses. On the part of Khon Kaen Star VC, Mr. Panchai Bawornratanapran, Chairman of the Khon Kaen Star VC Club signed for the club, while Khun Chokechai Khunwasee, Vice Chairman of KK Star VC; Asst. Prof. Klomkliaw Mawiang, Ph.D., Director of Volleyball Club and Mr. Apisit Ngammeerit, a coach of KK Star VC club, signed as witnesses.
