Tuesday June 13, 2023 – Khon Kaen University with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the Northeast Industrial Council, Khon Kaen Provincial Industrial Council, and Khon Kaen Provincial Administration Organization of Thailand, held a press conference to give details of the Exhibition Project to celebrate Khon Kaen University’s 60th Anniversary, a university that builds innovation for the society and of the 2023 Food and Agro Tech Event. The press conference was held at Sarasin Room, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.
The Exhibition Project, “Khon Kaen University’s 60th Anniversary – a university that builds innovation for the society” is organized to showcase academic, research and innovation works of the University for social and commercial utilization that will develop the quality of life of the people and promote the competitive competency of the country for sustainability and security.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of the University revealed that at present Khon Kaen University has a great number of innovations in medicine, agriculture, food, education, and energy. During the recent past, Khon Kaen University has been collaborating with external organizations, governmental, industrial and community sectors until there are a lot of start-ups, community enterprise groups, co-investment with the private sector, and upgrading of economy and of the communities in the vicinity of Khon Kaen University and provinces nearby.
“More importantly, this year is a special occasion as it is the 60th year of the University foundation and of the University as the intellectual resource of Isan. It is therefore a good chance for Khon Kaen University and the allies to public relate the works on innovations, start-up potentials and entrepreneurs who have been promoted and received the technology and innovation transfers from the University. This is the channel that has been added for interested people to extend their works, inventions, and innovations of Khon Kaen University towards the commercial bases. The utmost impact will be on better quality of life of people.”
Mr. Panthep Saokoson, Vice Governor of Khon Kaen said that private and governmental organizations have cooperated in deploying the provincial development in accordance with the SMART CITY and MICE CITY policy. This great exhibition event will demonstrate the provincial readiness and competency in being a MICE CITY, with the potentiality in organizing a great event and exposition. The province is also ready to be the center of investment and trades as well as other things.

The Exhibition Project, “Khon Kaen University’s 60th Anniversary – a university that builds innovation for the society” and the 2023 Food and Agro Tech are scheduled on June 22-24, 2023 at the Golden Jubilee Convention Center, Khon Kaen University.
The event features exhibition, goods expo and selling of innovation products. There are over 130 exhibition booths from Khon Kaen University and the allies, namely: Exhibition and selling of innovative products of Khon Kaen University and the allies including health products, herbal products, AI products for all, farm and agricultural products, exhibitions and selling of foods, energy-related and creative-economy products; 2) 5-star OTOP shops from Khon Kaen Office of Community Development. Each exhibition will draw visitors to the event to join and have fun. There will be free offers of food and other products for trials and the “golden minutes” selling of discount goods. At the central stage, there will be a lot of fun activities and special talks as well as academic forums. There will also be the contest on “creative food for sustainability”. Musical performance is also scheduled in the evening every day. Finally, KKU will present social innovation awards on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary.
