IAD, KKU cooperates with Student Development and Alumni Relation Affairs in organizing the project “Global Perspectives in the Workplace” to provide students with international competencies and prepare them for entering the global labor market

On May 9, 2022, the International Affairs Division, Khon Kaen University (IAD KKU), in cooperation with the Student Development and Alumni Relation Affairs, held a special activity “Global Perspectives in the Workplace” to prepare students for entering the global labor market, under the topic Activity 1: panel discussion “How to prepare yourself to be suited for world-famous companies” via Zoom online.

 

The objectives of the activities are to prepare students for international competency by providing knowledge & advice, and by conveying experiences from speakers of world-leading companies, as well as preparing students to become quality graduates to respond to the international labor market. This event was honored by Assoc Prof. Piansak Pakdee, the Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Affairs of Khon Kaen University who gave an opening speech, and Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, along with Mrs. Wilawan Ungsunantawiwat, Acting Director of International Affairs Division, who welcomed the participants. More than 100 students and interested persons attending the event.

Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, said that currently, we are in a disruptive era, which affects many sectors that have to deal with, and adapt to, the world situation, especially when it comes to the world labor market. In addition to preparing for the economic system, the preparation of individuals or new graduates is an important factor. Khon Kaen University has the vision to develop students to have the competencies and skills that are needed in the future, to produce Quality Graduates that meet the needs of society as well as of organizations working in all sectors. Therefore, it is very useful to share knowledge with students, especially experiences directly from lecturers in world-class companies. That will prepare students with the necessary skills, as well as allow them to be open for new worldviews and perspectives (Global Perspective).

Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs reported that the International Affairs Division, Khon Kaen University (IAD, KKU) has the strategy to create an international atmosphere within the university, both in terms of personnel, students, and the environment, including developing global competences, opening up a global world which will lead to a world-class university. One of the vital key indicators is to produce quality graduates who meet the world labor market requirements, who have the skills that are needed in the 21st century and are adapted to today’s globalization trends. Therefore, IAD, KKU organized the project activity “Global Perspectives in the Workplace” to prepare students to enter the global market, especially in preparation for job applications, including the development of English language proficiency. This event is honored by Mitsubishi Company (Thailand) Ltd, The Siam cement public company limited, SCG, The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, GP Strategies, Dale Carnegie Thailand, and Assets World Corporation, who joined as the key speakers.

 

This day May 9, 2022, is the first day of the activities under the topic panel discussion “How to prepare yourself to be an attractive candidate for world-famous companies” honored by Mr. Narongdech Luangdilok, Human Resources Specialist, Mitsubishi Company (Thailand) Ltd, and Mr. Wongsakorn Chairatanathavorn, Manager – WFP & Talent Acquisition, Corporate Human Resources Division, The Siam Cement PCL (SCG) provided knowledge, techniques and experiences to prepare for job applications for students, such as adapting to current situations understanding of human resource management, the important skills for job application, Preparation of application documents, Adaptation and awareness of different organizational cultures, work, etc.

The International Affairs Division has divided the activities into 4 activities as follows:

Activity 1: Panel Discussion “How to Prepare to Be Liked by World-famous Companies” (9 May ‘ 22)

Activity 2: Resume Writing: How to build a crazy resume that gets top results & Mock Interview (19 May ‘ 22)

Activity 3: How to get a job interview with a Job Offer from a world-class company (20 May ‘22)

Activity 4: Mock Interview by English Interview (27 May ‘22)
