KHON KAEN SMART LIVING LAB awarded the outstanding innovation prize

September 27, 2021 – Dr. Somsak Jungtrakoon, Khon Kaen Governor, presented honorary certificates to 3 cooperating organizations: the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), Faculty of Sciences, Khon Kaen University and Khon Kaen Municipality for the outstanding innovations in governmental services and participatory official administration under the Khon Kaen Smart Living Lab project or healthy Khon Kaen people by digital health technology. The project is aimed at reducing the frequency of people visiting the hospital in order to reduce the spread of Covid-19, especially the elderly and patients with NCDs.

Mr. Tawatchai Khotwong, Director of Isan Region of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency; Assoc. Prof. Rina Pataramanon, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Organizational Strategy of the Faculty of Sciences, Khon Kaen University and Miss. Somporn Chai-ayut, Director of the Environmental and Public Health Service of Khon Kaen Municipality were the representatives receiving the award.

Khon Kaen Smart Living Lab was a collaboration of 12 units in 2018 and 25 units in 2020. The units included both governmental organizations, supplementary organizations in the area, educational departments and private organizations. In 2020, the objective was to create digital health innovation with communities, governmental and private sectors for policy-related or commercial-related impacts. The work was carried out in Living Lab, so as to have the virtual place of living for the tests of the innovations. The key professors carrying out the work included: Assoc. Prof. Rina Pataramanon, Ph.D., Asst. Prof. Sumontha Kasemwilat, Ph.D., Faculty of Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Chollathip Pongsakul, M.D., from the Faculty of Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Pacharee Jiaranaikoon, Ph.D.; Assoc. Prof. Jureerat Daduang, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Sakda Daduang, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science; and Asst. Prof. Manida Sawangnet, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Technology.

The certificates were given in order to demonstrate the appreciation of the collaborative action in Khon Kaen and to promote standardization and efficiency of the work that is related to people service as well as to support the development of Khon Kaen towards being Khon Kaen Smart City for sustainable benefits to the people.
