The Faculty of Engineering has submitted a request for certification of standard of the Industrial Engineering Program from Thailand Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (TABEE), Thailand Engineering Council. On July 22, 2021, Thailand Engineering Council announced the certification of standard of the education quality, bestowing full accreditation to the industrial engineering program of the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University. The accreditation period lasts from the academic year 2020 to 2025. The standard criteria are based on the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), which is the United States’ standard accreditation organization accepted all over the world. The program, prior to this, has been certified by TABEE for 3 years (2017-2019). The full accreditation for 6 years this time brings confidence that the program will prepare high-quality graduates to the domestic and international job markets.
The Industrial Engineering Program is run by a dedicated team of professors and staff who have high intention to answer the needs of the job markets both in Thailand and abroad. Management of instruction of the program continuously meets the international standards. The strong point of this program is the emphasis on enhancing students’ knowledge and competency in technologies, industrial techniques, and knowledge for industrial engineering occupation. Graduates from the program are entitled to take the test to become a professional associate control engineer, can hold the industrial engineering occupation or further their studies abroad. They are also competent to work with governmental and private organizations in Thailand and overseas.
Students enrolled into the program will be learning about the fundamental principles of engineering profession, law, and ethics related to automatic control, maintenance engineering, safety engineering, quality control, industrial cost analyses, manufacturing processes, manufacturing planning and control, industrial factory layout, and advanced manufacturing methods, etc.
