Khun Sukit Sirinorakul, Chairman of KKU Operation Promotion Committee mentioned in his reporting speech, “This first KKU ROYAL TROPHY is a team competition and it is expected to be a traditional golf competition every two years. The Operational Promotion Committee of Khon Kaen University and KKU Engineering Alumni Association co-organize this event. The notable thing about this competition is that it is for leading amateurs of the country that are widely accepted, which is second to the Golden Phra Kiaw Golf. The game is organized with international standards, rules and regulations comparable to professional competition. The event will attract best golfers to join. The event will not score the handicap points and will count the scores of all golfers, thus making all teams to send good golfers to the event. The organizers invited 12 teams who accepted the invitation and each team sent 12 golfers. The game will take 2 days, with 8 golfers playing each time. On the first day, the competition will be pairs, foursome and four-ball, each for 9 holes. The second day game will be individual and scoring is based on stroke play. The points will be totaled from 8 players, and the score of each golfer is calculated from gross scores. Winners are judged from the total score of the two days. The announcement of results and trophies presentation will be held on Sunday March 19, 2023 at Singh Park Golf Course, Khon Kaen. On behalf of The Operational Promotion Committee of Khon Kaen University and the organizers, I’d like to thank all those who have been involved and supported this event.”

“On behalf of Khon Kaen University, I congratulate all of the graduates who have succeeded in the studies at Khon Kaen University. Your graduation is the pride of yourself, your family and the University.

Khon Kaen University is pleased to welcome you back to the university for this degree conferral occasion, which is a very important opportunity of your life. All of the graduates, notwithstanding whether you have completed a 4-year, a 6-year program, or a graduate level, the study period of each of which may differ, have the chances to utilize the experiences and knowledge learned from the university for your professional benefits. The world now, however, is changing rapidly all the time. Therefore, the most important thing for you as the graduates is self-adjustment, which involves learning of new things and new technologies. In addition, you need to keep sharpening your skills. All of you must have heard that in order to survive in this modern world, it is not necessary to be the smartest person or the strongest person, but it is more important to know how to adjust oneself. I hope all of you will apply what you have learned for the benefits of yourself and hope that you will succeed in your occupation, no matter whereabout in the society you will be.”

July 22-23, 2020 – Division of Student Development and Alumni Relation and the Alumni Relation Section held the “Nong poh pi pluk” activity by transferring Kalapruek seedlings cultivated by the present students to the alumni to plant in public spaces or their homes. The event was meant to convey ideology, love, and attachment through Kalapruek trees, the KKU tree. The division and KKU Alumni Association travelled during these 2 days to visit the alumni in Yasothon, Ubon Ratchathani and Mukdahan, bringing Kalapruek seedlings for the alumni to plant.

July 22, 2020 – The seedlings were given first to Mr. Somsak Wanchai and Miss Laddawan Maharaksit, KKU’s 12th Class, to plant in the area around their place, Saraburi Block Concrete Shop in Yasothon; and next, to Sirintorn District where Mr. Monkon Phui-on, Assistant District Officer who represented Mr. Sanong Malaikhwan, Sirintorn District Officer and a 24th Class Public Health alumnus received the seedlings, which were to be taken to Phra Khru Panya Warobon, the abbot of Sirintornwararam, Phu Phraw to plant in Phu Phraw. The group then visited around the area to see the growth of Kalapruek trees planted by KKU alumni in 2018, hoping that one day when the flowers bloom, they will add to the beauty of Phu Phraw, which is an important and famous landmark of Sirintorn.

July 23, 2020 – The group went to Mukdahan, also to see the growth of Kalapruek trees transferred to Mr. Sukhum Habut, an advisor of Mukdahan KKU Alumni Association and a 7th Class alumnus, and planted by KKU alumni in 2018 at the area around Suan Santikhun Forest Temple, Nasok Sub-District, Muang District. More seedlings were given in Mukdahan for planting.

“Nong poh pi pluk” is another activity organized by the Alumni Relation Section of Division of Student Development and Alumni Relation, KKU. A group of KKU students volunteered to collect Kalapruek pods around the campus to cultivate. When these seeds grew, they were ready to be brought to KKU alumni to plant. The activity is meant to strengthen the relationships between the present and the former students of Khon Kaen University, using the KKU trees as the medium.
